The Gili Islands are home to green turtles, hawksbill turtles, and loggerhead turtles, and spotting them up close in their natural habitat is one of those experiences that genuinely stays with you. One of the highlights of the tour is The Nest, an underwater sculpture installation consisting of 48 life-size human figures arranged in a circle, created by world-renowned sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor. The statues sit in shallow water at around 5 meters deep, making them accessible even for beginner snorkelers. Over time they've been colonized by coral and sponges, and are now teeming with fish. It's one of the most surreal and beautiful things you'll see underwater anywhere in Southeast Asia. We also stop at the Meno Bounty, a large sunken platform now completely covered in hard corals and home to all kinds of marine life. And throughout the tour you'll drift through vibrant coral gardens packed with schools of colorful tropical fish, moray eels, and the occasional reef shark. Whether you've never snorkeled before or you're a seasoned water person, this tour works for all levels.
